“I never knew that I wasn’t really alive until my first son was born. I was just a walking shell of a person until May 24th, 2012 at 10:12 am. My heart began to beat that very moment. Life was breathed into me as this tiny human was taking in his first breath outside of the home I had given him for 10 cozy months. The world was colored in different shades from that day on.
On March 10th, 2014 the rhythm of my heart was finally in sync when my second son was born. I delivered him myself at 5:50 pm and he completed my life’s purpose.
Motherhood created a new person in me. It made me see life from a different perspective. Things that once mattered no longer were a priority – the thrills that I used to seek were now replaced by the sounds of my children laughing and their happiness was and is all I need to chase.
Motherhood can bring you to your knees. You look forward to each passing day, as a new sunrise can bring promises of such joy but each sunset is a day closer to them growing up and being their own person.
I look back and miss those tiny babies they once were but I live for each minute with the little people they are now. I have never laughed and cried so much in my life. Their adoring eyes and endless giggles – their ready smiles and treasured hugs… Becoming a mother and raising the best of you is absolutely priceless.
You are the most vulnerable, weakest person when it comes to your love for them. But the strongest, super-human when it comes to protecting that love you have for them.
My children know the lyrics to my hearts song. And together, it is the most beautiful melody. I couldn’t thank them enough for awakening my soul and giving me a life and love that I never thought was possible.”
